A refurbishment that worked by subtraction. Once the partitions between living room and kitchen were removed, the flat began receiving light from two orientations and gained the depth it lacked.

Joinery handles storage without occupying the centre: a continuous shelf under the window, a cabinet flush against the blind wall. What remains is open space — and the view, which used to be confined to a single bedroom.
